I had the pleasure of appearing with Barry Lee, a popular radio and television personality in Winchester, on his Talk of the Town program. Barry, and Todd Thompson of the Winchester Royals, and I spent a little time talking about the upcoming Valley Baseball League Season as well as how each of us became interested in the game. Here’s a link to TV 3’s website, in case you missed it. (Make sure you click on “Episode 61” and don’t be scared off by its 28 minute length; we talk for about 7 minutes and we’re at the beginning of the show!)
This appearance marks my 50th year in television. I appeared on Romper Room in Baltimore back in 1962.
Congratulations on your 50th. I never made it to Romper Room (you needed “connections” to get on the high end TV shows).

Austin,
Great interview with Barry Lee. You handled yourself like a professional. It almost seems like these situations are second nature to you. Glad that we were able to reconnect again, not only as good friends, but to both have a renewed passion for the game that is still America’s favorite past time. It is hard to believe that June 1st is already here, and that you are gearing up for your broadcasts. Are we still on track For July 3rd ? If so I plan to bring my book with me so you can sign it. By then, hopefully the Birds will be back on track and playoff bound. Have to be optomistic !

Thanks, Don. I’m so glad to know that your passion for the game (that is THE game) has been renewed! We’ll be broadcasting our home opener (June 2) as well as the rest of our home games. You bet we’re still on for July 3rd. I may be thawed out by then from our first game. Martha will join us, too. As always, thanks for commenting!

Austin,
How does 6pm on the 3rd, sound at the ticket window ? Seems like it worked out good in April, and this time we should be able to feel our legs, and our teeth won’t be chatterring !
